The children enrolled in our Preschool prep program have been learning about and celebrating the Chinese New Year! They have decorated colorful dragon masks, colored dragon puppets, made chinese lanterns, danced with their parents and teachers, and made pigs using paper plates, pink paint, and pipe cleaners for tails. The year 2019 is “The Year of The Pig.”

We read “Celebrating Chinese New Year: Nick’s New Year” together, and the children learned about the customs and traditions of celebrating the Chinese New Year.

The sensory table was filled with dry rice and the children experienced finding hidden panda bears in the rice and creating “buildings” with wooden bamboo.

The children also tried chopsticks, and ate special snacks including dried seaweed, rice, eggrolls, fortune cookies, and tangerines! Fun!
