Trips to the Bank

Like other errands, this mundane adult task is an extremely worthwhile lesson for children. Enhancing literary and math skills, going to the bank can be a fun activity for you and your child. Here are some ways you can use this trip to bond with and inform your child on important lessons:

1. If your child has their own piggy bank, show him/her how much change is worth once it is counted.

2. Have your child see and identify the differences between the shapes, sizes, and value of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters.

3. Show your child what $1 is worth once applied to spending.
